Abstract
Summary
A method for staining elementary bodies of smallpox is described. The method consists of the application of Feulgen's method for deoxyribonucleic acid to smears made of scrapings of the bottom of skin lesions. The procedure seems to afford the means for a quick diagnosis of smallpox, and allows differentiation of virus particles from extraneous material.
