Summary
Aureomycin hydrochloride stimulates the growth of chicks when fed in the diet at levels as low as 25 mg per kilo. This effect is presumed to be an indirect one since certain other antibiotics manifest this same property. The relationship of this phenomenon to proposed new APF factors in certain natural materials is discussed.
