Summary
The oral administration of 10% defatted and desiccated whole liver powder increased significantly the gain in body weight of immature rats fed purified diets containing 30.2, 45.3 and 60.5% lactose. It prolonged the survival time of immature rats fed a purified diet containing 60.5 per cent lactose, and it counteracted the inhibition of ovarian development which occurred on purified rations containing 30.2 and 45.3% lactose.
