Abstract
Summary
Cholinesterase (“true” cholinesterase) from human erythrocytes and snake venoms is capable of catalyzing the hydrolysis of ethoxyethanol acetate, desoxycorticosterone acetate, ketopropanol acetate, phenylacetate, p-nitrophenol acetate and acetylsalicylic acid. The first mentioned ester is attacked more effectively by e-cholinesterase than by s-cholinesterase (“pseudo”-cholinesterase).
