Chloromycetin prepared by chemical synthesis appears to possess the same rickettsiostatic and virustatic properties in experimental infections and the same usefulness in treating patients with scrub typhus that have been demonstrated for chloromycetin produced by Streptomyces venezuelae, N. Sp.
