Abstract
Summary
From this study is can be concluded that the pantothenate stimulation of amino acid oxidation by Proteus morganii is limited to those amino acids which can be converted to pyruvate. However, in the case of glutamic acid, and its metabolic intermediate α-ketoglutarate, the pantothenate stimulation appears to be more than can be attributed to pyruvate oxidation.
