Summary
By use of the electrocardiograph, vagotomy, and atropine, it was shown that the early bradycardia of experimental phosgene poisoning was mediated by efferent vagal fibers. Excessive parasympathetic tone appears to have no special significance in the genesis of the pulmonary response to phosgene.
