1. The synthetic medium described by Dubos and Davis provides an efficient method of studying antimyeobacterial agents. 2. Of 19 compounds tested in vitro, 4 showed sufficient activity to warrant further investigation. 3. 2-butoxy-5-amino-pyridine sodium formaldehyde bisulfite is ineffective in the treatment of experimental tuberculosis in mice and guinea pigs.
