Summary
A significant reduction in total granulocytes was observed in female rats fed a synthetic ration at reduced caloric intake. Such reduction was not observed in animals fed a similar ration ad lib or yeast in place of the synthetic B vitamins. The low granulocyte counts were corrected by treatment with folic acid.
