Abstract
Summary
Methods have been described for producing in the rat, (a) a simple ligation of the portal vein, and (b) an anastomosis between the inferior vena cava and the portal venous system. By the use of the latter procedure, either a “direct” or an “indirect” Eck fistula may be produced. These technics should enhance the value of the laboratory rat in liver function studies.
