Abstract
Summary
Chronic feeding of a diet containing up to 1% of choline chloride produced no evidence of toxicity. Except for growth rate depression, no toxic effects of higher dietary levels have been observed. Rats which drank water containing 1% of choline chloride showed perceptible diminution in growth rate. Greater concentrations than 3% choline in the drinking water were poorly tolerated. No histopathological effects could be directly attributed to the ingestion of these amounts of choline.
