Abstract
Conclusions and Summary
Results obtained from this series of experiments seem to warrant the following conclusions: 1. Immunity can be engendered to a marked degree in pied stock rats against Nippostrongylus muris after vaccination with antigens prepared by extracting the homologous worms. 2. Immunization of pied stock rats with these two types of “improved” antigens precludes any possibility of the condition described as “prernunition”, as in the case of the results obtained by a previous investigator. 1 , 2 3. The immunity produced by this method is effective against the lung and intestinal phases, and possibly the skin phase, of the parasite, in the same manner as those reported by previous investigators after active (by prior infection) and passive immunization against this parasite. 5 , 6 , 7
