Summary and Conclusions
Direct biochemical evidence is presented to show that altered or impaired oxygenation of erythrocytes occurs following the parenteral administration of polyvinyl alcohol or the oral administration of cholesterol, both film-forming agents.
The use of polyvinyl alcohol as a medium for the reëstablishment of normal osmotic pressure in the blood is considered.
