Lactogenic hormone in doses from 0.5-2.0 mg given subcutaneously daily beginning at day 21 to rats did not delay, but in some cases may have slightly advanced the day of vaginal opening. Continued injection of the same doses of hormone thereafter resulted in continuous vaginal mucification for the duration of experiment (approximately two weeks) and in lobular development of the mammary gland.
