Abstract
Summary
The intravenous injection of trypsin into rabbits results in a prompt reduction in the total blood histamine with an associated leukopenia. The addition of trypsin to heparinized rabbit's blood in vitro results in a shift of histamine from cells to plasma. In both respects the effects of trypsin are similar to those produced by antigen in sensitized animals.
