Marked differences appeared in strains of mice when they were ovariectomized at birth and then examined in later life. The high tumor J AX dba and J AX C3H strains showed stimulated uterus, vagina and mammary glands. The adrenal glands exhibited extensive nodular, hyperplastic areas. All of these organs of the low tumor J AX C57 black strain remained essentially unstimulated. To ascertain whether the above differences are characteristic of all high and low tumor strains, other strains are being studied.
