Summary
Experimental hypertension may develop in the partially nephrectomized rat in either the presence or absence of the posterior pituitary. In the presence of the posterior pituitary 7 of 8 hypertensive rats showed an increase in blood volume whereas in the absence of the posterior pituitary 4 of 5 hypertensive rats showed a normal blood volume.
