Summary
In individuals with lymphogranuloma venereum, the serum has been found to fix complement regularly in the presence of antigens containing the virus in high concentration. Such fixation was observed only once with sera taken from supposedly uninfected individuals but was obtained frequently in syphilitic sera showing markedly positive Wassermann reactions.
