Summary
A method of obtaining virulent, encapsulated group A beta hemolytic streptococci, sensitive to the reaction of capsular swelling with homologous antisera, has been described. Essentially this consists of the injection of living streptococci into mice simultaneously treated with unrefined scarlet fever antitoxin.
