Abstract
Summary
Homocystine and homocysteine can be determined quantitatively with the polarographic method. In concentrations as low as 26 γ per cc the accuracy is ±3%. The quantity of sulfhydryl groups in mixtures of homocysteine and cystine can be determined with the same accuracy although it is not possible to distinguish homocystine and cystine qualitatively by this method.
