Abstract
Conclusions
A method suitable for the isolation of a type-specific protein in C. diphtheria is described. Both the lipoid and carbohydrate fractions are group-specific while the alkali-soluble protein is type-specific. The type-specific substance is heat-labile, being converted into a group-specific protein by heating at 56°C for 30 minutes.
