Conclusions
Increase in fragility of the red blood cells to hypotonic saline occurs in capillary blood in the presence of circulatory arrest. This is similar in degree and direction to that observed in congestive heart failure. These alterations may also be observed in certain samples obtained from a vein which contains an appreciable amount of capillarv blood.
