Sulfanilamide by oral, subcutaneous, and intravenous administration was ineffective in the treatment of rabbits inoculated intravenously with virulent Shigella dysenteriæ (Shiga) in dose of 300 million per kilo, fatal in 24 to 72 hours in untreated controls.
