Summary and Conclusions
1. The urine of 7 painters showed increased porphyrinuria as compared with the amount present in the urine of 45 control subjects. 2. In every instance this increased porphyrinuria decreased following the administration of nicotinic acid. 3. These studies suggest that nicotinic acid may play a rôle in the metabolism of porphyrins.
