1. Coproporphyrin I is excreted at a constant rate in normal dogs, proving the existence of the dualism of the porphyrins in that animal. 2. Experimental evidence is given that coproporphyrin I excretion seems to be directly proportional to and a measure of hematopoietic activity. 3. Coproporphyrin I is not a product of or related to blood destruction.
