Summary
The abnormal fall in body carbohydrate suffered by hypophysectomized rats during fasting can be prevented by the administration of anterior pituitary extracts, and the muscle glyccw gen values can be raised to supernormal levels for the fasted conditions. This action of the anterior pituitary occurs in the absence of the adrenal glands.
