Walker 256 carcinoma cells were injected subcutaneously into rats that were then given warfarin intravenously. Depression of prothrombin and factors VII, IX, and X levels was much greater than in control rats given the same doses of warfarin. A somewhat similar hypersensitivity accompanied treatment of normal rats with subcutaneous injections of turpentine.
