Abstract
Summary
Structure-activity relationship studies on the BA molecule were conducted utilizing glycemic responses in mice. Substitutions on the ureido group decreased both the hyperglycemic response and glucose intolerance which BA normally elicits. These results indicate that the unsubstituted ureido moiety is required for the molecule to exert its effects on these parameters of carbohydrate metabolism.
