Abstract
Summary
In acute experiments performed on anesthetized dogs insulin choleresis was observed in control animals and compared with a group subjected to abdominal evisceration. Other studies compared insulin choleresis in control dogs with a group prepared by bilateral adrenalectomy. These experiments demonstrated that insulin choleresis was not abolished by evisceration or adrenalectomy. Increments in gastrointestinal or adrenal hormones are not necessary for insulin choleresis.
