Summary
Glutathione reduction by the hexose monophosphate shunt was shown to be stimulated by quinacrine in preparations of guinea pig cerebral hemispheres. The stimulatory effect of the drug depended on the presence of a subcellular, particulate fraction obtained by differential centrifugation.
