Abstract
Summary
Propranolol at doses of 5 and 30 mg/kg and sotalol in a dose of 100 mg/kg only partially inhibited the hyperglycemic response to epinephrine in the rat. These β-adrenergic antagonists completely antagonized the glycogenolytic effect of epinephrine on skeletal muscle, but they did not modify the marked effect of epinephrine on liver glycogen.
