Abstract
Summary
Histologic changes resembling pyelonephritis developed in normal isologous rats parabiosed to rats with chronic enterococcal pyelonephritis. “Transfer” occurred even when viable bacteria had been eliminated from donor animals by antibiotic therapy. The “transferred” lesions, mononuclear cell infiltrate, tubular and papillary lesions, appeared at 3 weeks and persisted for 12 weeks (duration of study).
