Abstract
Summary
Lysine-rich and arginine-rich histories were extracted from erythroid precursors of bone marrow obtained from three patients with chronic erythremic myelosis. On polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis, the histone patterns resembled the patterns of his-tones extracted from erythroid precursors in patients with treated pernicious anemia. Amino acid analyses of histone fractions demonstrated that the erythremic myelosis histones were arginine rich. Relationships between these findings and the pathogenesis of megaloblastoid erythropoiesis are discussed.
