Abstract
Summary
Sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, zinc and copper concentrations in intact myocardium and radiozinc uptake into intact myocardium and its subcellular fractions (nuclear, mitochondrial, microsomal and soluble protein) were compared in 8 dogs 15 hr after administration of an LD50 dose of endotoxin against 8 control animals. No differences were found, thus providing further evidence of the intact metabolism and function of the heart in endotoxemia.
