Abstract
Summary
Reduction of renal arterial pressure in normal and renin-depleted dogs was associated with little or no change in glomerular filtration rate or filtration fraction. Urine flow, sodium and potassium excretion and osmolal clearance were consistently diminished. The results indicated that activation of angiotensin II through renin was not necessary for autoregulation of glomerular filtration and filtration fraction.
