Abstract
Summary
A dose-exposure time relationship was studied using PMS effect upon ovarian weight in immature female rats. The biologic activity of the hormone was neutralized by use of a potent antiserum prepared in rabbits. Regardless of the dose of PMS injected, about 22 hr were required for doubling of ovarian weight. Estrogen production by the ovary appeared to be unnecessary for the ovarian response to PMS since pretreatment with a large dose of stilbestrol did not alter the response time.
