Abstract
Summary
The renal concentration of a-aminoisobutyric acid, corrected for extravascular fluid volume, increases at least 50% by the second day after contralateral nephrectomy and returns to normal in the next 2 days. The data suggest the necessity of correcting the labeling kinetics of renal protein during compensatory renal hypertrophy for changes in the specific activity of the amino acid precursor pool.
