Abstract
Summary
Evidence is provided that during MCMV-infection in mice there is a different effect on different liver lysosomal enzymes. Acid phosphatase showed a variable degree of activation and seemed to play an insignificant role in the tissue breakdown. Acid proteinase on the other hand exhibited increased activation and appears to be partly responsible for MVMC-hepatitis. Total lipids and cholesterol increased several fold, while phospholipids remained constant.
