Summary
Treatment of cultured human lung cells for 24 hr with hexachlorophene resulted in an inhibition of cell division and the synthesis of DNA, RNA, and protein. Normal cell division could be restored by rinsing cultures that had been treated with hexachlorophene at 1 or 5 μg/ml.
