Diphenylhydantoin-Induced Inhibition of Nucleic Acid Synthesis in Cultured Human Lymphocytes

Abstract

Summary

Diphenylhydantoin inhibited DNA synthesis of phytohemagglutinin-stimulated lymphocytes. The inhibition was dose and time dependent, and was significant in the therapeutic range (10-20 μg/ml). At higher concentrations RNA and protein synthesis were also inhibited.
