Abstract
Summary
In anesthetized open-chest dogs stiffening of the main pulmonary artery reflected as a decrease in the pressure-diameter slope has been demonstrated during carotid artery occlusion and during lung inflation with associated phrenic nerve efferent activity. The response of the main pulmonary artery to both stimuli is blocked by phenoxy-benzamine.
