Abstract
Summary
Chick embryos developed generalized infection from MPV. Sequential distribution of MPV in situ suggested that the virus was transported hematogenously, first to the extracorporeal membranes, and secondarily to embryonic tissues. Embryonic organs of the reticuloendothelial system were principal primary cell targets. The specificity of the cellular pathology was confirmed by retrieval of MPV from, and the immunological demonstration of fluorescent antigen in cells of affected organs.
