Abstract
Summary
Kirk virus recovered from D6 cells inoculated with acute phase plasma samples of an MS-1 infectious hepatitis patient was found to possess the properties of a parvo- or picodnavirus. Antigenically it belongs to the H-3 group, although it has a markedly different host range and a somewhat different hemagglutination pattern. Adenovirus type 7a proved to function as an efficient helper for Kirk virus, producing an increase in virus yields of up to 100-fold.
