Abstract
Summary
A hemadsorption plaque assay in HeLa cells for mumps virus and virus-infected cells is described. Slow development of secondary plaques allows use of a liquid overlay for readings made after 3 or 4 days of incubation. Since the definitive number of plaques developing under the conditions of assay do not develop for 5 days, earlier readings are especially useful for comparative titrations, and readings at 4 days are easier to make than at 3 days.
