Abstract
Summary
Replicating and nonreplicating DNA were isolated in an isopycnic density gradient from cultured fetal mouse skin cells after incubation with 5-bromodeoxyuridine for 20 hr. Benz[a]anthracene, when incubated in the cultures simultaneously with bromodeoxyuridine, binds to both replicating and nonreplicating DNA. The binding of benz[a]anthracene to mouse DNA is considerably less than that previously reported for 7,12-dimethylbenz[a]anthracene.
