Summary
The canine, simian, and human strains of parainfluenza SV-5 virus were compared in SN and HI tests. All of the strains studied are closely related viruses.
Dogs given canine strains of SV-5 virus developed very mild respiratory infections with extensive shedding of the virus from the throat and the development of specific antibody.
