Abstract
Summary
Ribonucleic acid (RNA) obtained from the lymph nodes of responder strain 2 guinea pigs immunized with DNP-PLL was added in vitro to the lymph node cells from normal nonresponder strain 13 guinea pigs. These strain 13 lymph node cells were then tested for their ability to be stimulated to proliferate by the addition of DNP-PLL. Under two different culture conditions normal strain 13 cells exposed to the RNA failed to respond to antigen. These experiments do not lend support to the idea that RNA obtained from immunized lymphoid cells can transfer immunological information to naive lymphoid cells.
