Complete denervation of the rabbit kidney by performing an autograft appears to ameliorate the noxious effect of an endotoxin infusion. Fibrin degradation products appear in the circulation when the generalized Shwartzman phenomenon is induced in rabbits by endotoxin infusion, suggesting activation of its fibrinolytic system.
