Abstract
Summary
Human herpesviruses (EB, cytomegalovirus, herpes zoster, and herpes simplex) provide incomplete helper function(s) for the potentiation of the defective adenovirus-associated viruses (AAV) as contrasted with adenoviruses which provide all the required functions for a complete helper effect. AAV immunofluorescent-stainable antigen is formed in the presence of herpesviruses but infectious AAV is not produced.
