Abstract
Summary
It has been shown that chemical modification of the negatively charged carboxyl groups of synthetic polymers of amino acids via introduction of neutral determinants tends to reduce immunogenic properties of the respective polymer.
In some instances the presence of tyrosyl residues can, to a limited degree, reverse the above effect.
The possible implication of these findings for development of nonimmunogenic synthetic plasma expanders is presented.
